Grayson was a very special person with a gentle spirit and quick smile. He was born on the winter solstice, December 21, 1992. Grayson was born with developmental disabilities and cared for deeply by his father, Steven Orvis, mother, Elizabeth English, younger sister, Sage Orvis, step-father, Leigh Williams, and his half-sister Gwyneth Williams.
Grayson grew up in Brewster, Massachusetts, a small town on Cape Cod and a community that came to know and love him. He attended Eddy Elementary School and Nauset High School where he graduated in 2012 thanks to the dedicated support of his teachers, aides, and students who befriended him. Most recently, Grayson lived in a small group home in Dennis with aides who took great care of him. He attended a day program in South Yarmouth. Grayson's entire family is grateful to everyone who touched Grayson's life and cared for him.
Grayson loved music, trips to the grocery store and mall, and, most of all, walks in his stroller on the bike path. As with many people with disabilities, Grayson's sweet nature and obvious vulnerability brought out people's kindness and humanity. This was Grayson's gift.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a donation to Community Systems, Inc., an organization that helps people with disabilities live full lives in their home communities.
