

Henry I Watras of North Eastham, MA and formerly Simsbury, CT passed away Sunday February 21, 2010 at Cape Cod Hospital. He was born on October 1, 1930 in Lebanon Connecticut, the son of dairy farmer Charles K. Watras and Elizabeth (Wilk) Watras.
Henry was the beloved husband of Margaret (Kellogg) of North Eastham, his wife of 56 years. He is survived by three children, their spouses and 10 grand children: Susan and Dean Anneser of West Granby, CT; Kathleen and Peter Sayadoff of East Aurora, NY; and John and Mary Jean Watras of Eden Prairie, MN. Henry was predeceased by his son U.S. Navy Commander Henry J. Watras. Henry was adored by his grandchildren who spent many summers on Cape Cod with him and Margaret: USAF !st LT. Dean Anneser II; Diane (Anneser) and US Army 2nd LT. Matthew Bragoni; US Army ROTC Officer Candidate Donald Anneser (to be commissioned in May 2010); Peter and Kristen Sayadoff; and Michael, Megan and Christine Watras, Molly and William Watras. Henry also leaves behind his devoted sister, Frances L. Watras of Hartford CT and brother Ernest Watras of Meriden CT. He was predeceased by several siblings.
Graduating from University of Connecticut, he joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War. Henry retired in 1985 from Cigna Insurance.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 23rd from 5-7 pm at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans MA.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday February 24th at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes, Route 6, Wellfleet. Burial will follow with military honors at 1 pm in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Henry's name may be made to the Eastham Fire and Rescue, 2520 State Highway, Eastham, MA 02642.
