

Jim Schrock passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2017. He leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Kathy (Beck); son Rockwell and daughter-in-law Jessica of Ashford, CT; in-laws Helen and John Beck of Eastham; sister Amanda Schrock and niece, Quin, of Waltham; sister Rebecca Schrock Kane of Redmond, WA; and brother-in law, Mike Beck, wife, Stephanie, and nephew, Cooper, of Portland, CT. Jim also leaves behind his loved Jack Russell Terrier, George.
Jim was born on August 10, 1958 in Teaneck, NJ, to the late Tye and Jim Schrock, grew up in Haworth, NJ, and attended Rutgers College of Engineering, graduating as a civil engineer in 1980. As a licensed Professional Engineer, he worked in this field for many years, on the Big Dig and many sub-surface structural projects.
Jim was an avid hiker since his Boy Scout days. He through-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 1999, and continued to go back to the trail each year and section hike. Together with his son, Rockwell, they hiked Mt. Greylock (MA) and at Glacier National Park (MT).
