Joan W. Tettelbach

Joan Welt Tettelbach, 81, of Harwich passed away on September 7, 2016. She was born August 13, 1935 in Lancaster, NY. She was the daughter of John and Marion Welt, and the beloved wife of Richard Tettelbach, who predeceased her.

Joan received her Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from SUNY. Joan and Richard retired to Harwich where they enjoyed hiking in the natural beauty that the Cape offers. Joan, being a lifelong artist and teacher, was always inspired by her surroundings. Long after her professional teaching career was over she enjoyed educating her grandsons about the nature of Cape Cod.

She is survived by her sons Haydn Frost of Dunlap, IL and Alex Frost of Boston, MA; grandsons Max and Zack Frost of Toms River, NJ and Grady Frost of Boston, MA; brother Jack Welt; and sister Maryann McFadden. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Tettelbach, her son Graham Frost, her brother Ralph Welt and her parents John and Marion Welt.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 17 at 1:00 PM at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA 02653.
