She was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, to the late Prohor and Vera Kuzmich on July 13,
1929.
She was raised in the Russian Orthodox faith and as a young woman sang in a
Russian A Cappella choir. She had a lovely
singing voice.
"Jennie" was a high school English teacher until she retired in 1997 from
Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.
She received a teaching degree from Douglas Rutgers College and later a Masters
in Education from the Newton College of the Sacred Heart.
She also taught high school in Metuchen, NJ, Hanover, NH, and Shrewsbury, MA.
She married the late Rev John S. DuBois on June 13, 1955, and at this time
became an Episcopalian. Alongside her husband, she served the Episcopal
Church while living in Spotswood, NJ, Englewood, NJ, Indianapolis, IN, and Auburn,
MA.
She enjoyed the natural surroundings and gardens of her home in East Orleans.
She loved the written word: playing Scrabble was a favorite pastime and she was
an avid reader. Her love for God and her strong faith made her a grounded, and family
oriented woman. She was deeply loved by those who knew her and she will be
deeply missed.
She is survived by four children: Jennifer Zoe DuBois of Brookline, Vera DuBois
of East Orleans, Peter DuBois of Belmont, Paul DuBois of New Bedford, and her
grandson whom she "loved the mostest," John DuBois of Brookline. She is also survived by
a sister, Mary Gungor of Avenel, NJ, sister-in-law, Jane Kuzmich of Rahway, NJ,
a nephew, John Easton, and a niece, Susan Gungor of Avenel, NJ.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 11 AM, at the Church of the
