

John was born on January 15, 1956 to the union of the late Jean-Claude Michel and Vita Polycarpe in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. He was schooled in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti; and Gabon, Africa where he traveled with his father. He continued his education in NY, Boston, and Cape Cod Nauset Regional High School.
He was an entrepreneur business owner with his wife for 30 years. John loved aviation and was a licensed pilot who flew on many humanitarian missions. A passionate humanitarian officer he endeavored to help the people of Haiti. Jean worked tirelessly within his efforts.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his seven children, Melanay, P.J., Yanik, Jesse, Vita, Jonathan, and Marina; and six grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Claudine, Walker, Collete, Ronide, and Ludmia; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins of the Michel and Polycarpe family. He was predeceased by his son, Matthew, and his brother Geraldi.
His visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA followed by his funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 61 Canal Road, Orleans, MA. For online condolences, please visit www.nickersonfunerals.com
