

Lucy was born in Brookline, MA to Francis W. and Frances Hamilton on January 26, 1942. Lucy later graduated from Hanover High School and Bay Path College.
After moving to Cape Cod, Lucy worked many years in a family business, SOGS (South Orleans General Store). Moving to Provincetown, Lucy became a school bus driver and trolley driver for many years.
Lucy was a grateful member of AA and recently celebrated 31 years of continuous sobriety. She was a vital and active member of the 5 Alive group at Pause-A-While in Orleans and helped many people in the program.
Lucy is survived by her brother Daniel Hamilton and sister-in-law Meredith; her nieces Katharine, Hamilton Prunty (Patrick Prunty), Julie Allen Hamilton (Jack Kerig), and Janet Hamilton Daley (Paul-John Daley), and her nephew Richard Hall and family. Lucy also had six great-nieces and nephews: Patrick Prunty, Sarah Bok, Alana Collins, John Daley, Ian Hamilton and Nell Hamilton, as well as one great-great-nephew Owain Bok. Lucy is also survived by many dear friends, especially Ron Stranger and Sandy Hempie.
In honor of Lucy’s devotion to her pets, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sampson Fund, P.O. Box 1756, Orleans, MA 02653.
A memorial gathering will be held on January 21, 2017 with a visitation from 1:00 to 2:30 PM and a service at 2:30 PM at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA 02653.
