Norma M. Daley, 85, of Eastham, MA formerly of Brookline, MA passed away on March 17, 2021 in Chatham, MA. She was the loving daughter of Charles and Eva (Dean) Mattoon and grew up in Springfield, MA. Norma was the beloved wife of John Grannis Daley for 45 years before his passing in 2013.
Norma was a voracious reader and because of this passion, she pursued her Master’s Degree in Library Science where she graduated from Simmons College in Boston. Norma enjoyed a long career as a librarian. She and John lived many years in Brookline and loved going to Boston to enjoy all it had to offer – concerts, ballet, theater and history – as well as taking many hiking trips to the White Mountains and the walking and biking trails of Cape Cod.
When Norma retired to Cape Cod, she enjoyed her garden, beaches, dunes and the wonderful wildlife around her home. Norma also took pleasure in attending many of Cape Cod’s theater productions and was particularly captivated by the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra concerts.
Norma is survived by her cat Spenser, dear friends Uelia and John Hayward, her caring first cousins: Grace Dean Mulqueen, Janet Dean Cibulas, Barbara Dean Boczer, Kenneth (Linda) Dean, Mary Alice Dean (Bruce) Baumann, along with many second cousins. Norma lived life to the fullest and will be missed by all.
No services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norma’s memory may be made to the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra, www.capesymphony.org. For online condolences, please visit www.nickersonfunerals.com.
