

Robert (Bob) T. Findlay passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 19th, 2024 at the age of 92. Bob was born in Bridgeport, CT on December 15th,1931 to Hugh and Janet (Walker) Findlay. Bob attended Stratford High in Stratford, CT where he studied drafting and tool making. After graduating in 1949, he worked as a draftsperson for several years before becoming a business owner co-founding Prestige Tool and Design (Shelton, CT) and later co-owner of Spectrum Plastics (Ansonia, CT). When he wasn’t working, Bob loved to stay busy with many different hobbies and enjoyed taking his family camping – they enjoyed numerous trips on the east coast including trips to Nickerson State Park where the family fell in love with Cape Cod.
Bob retired at the age of 60 and relocated to Brewster, MA Cape Cod. Bob was a man of many talents and his most noted hobbies in retirement were professional golf club making and expert wood turning. Bob was an avid golfer and a member of The Captains Golf Course in Brewster MA. He was a private pilot with an instrument rating and loved flying his Piper Cherokee all over the east coast for 40 years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Sandra and he loved flying, golfing, Geo-Caching, the social dine-in group, bird watching, hiking, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, bowling, bocce ball, hosting July 4th lobster feasts at their home on cape cod with family and having fun together. Together they started ‘The Alabama Group’ where they traveled south in the spring with 9 other couples for a 6-week adventure of golfing many courses, dining, shopping and exploring the southern states.
Bob lived a full, loving and wonderful life. Bob is survived by his loving wife Sandra MacLean, his sister Elizabeth DeAngelis, his sons, Bob (Lori) of Brewster MA, Mark (Sue) of Anchorage AK, Ward of McMinnville, OR and his daughter Susan Findlay-Walters of Concord MA, his step-children Suzanne Diamantopoulos of Buzzards Bay MA, Lori (Jack) Keating of The Villages FL, David Williams of Pawtucket RI and Lee (Bobby) Manley of Brighton MA. Bob was the proud grandfather of 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Love (Chorney), his daughter Nancy Geragotelis, and his brothers Harry Walker and Hugh Findlay and sister Margaret Krieder.
Visitation will be held from 1 – 3 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA with a service beginning at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lower Cape Outreach Council of Cape Cod.
