Robert E. Heaney

Robert Heaney of Orleans, MA died on Tuesday, August 07, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Bernadette (Gehan) Heaney for 58 years.

Bob was born in the Bronx, NY on January 22, 1931 to Joseph and Frances Heaney. He graduated from Regis High School and Hunter College, both in Manhattan. Bob proudly served his country during the Korean War as a U. S. Marine.

Above all else, Bob loved his family. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his daughter, Claire Ruggieri, of Bronxville, NY, her husband, Phil, and their daughters Ashley, Amanda, and Elizabeth; his daughter, Ellen Barry of Quincy, MA and her children Connor and Rebecca. Bob is also survived by a large circle of loving friends, nieces and nephews who all considered him the patriarch of the family.

A mass to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012 at Saint Joan of Arc Church, 61 Canal Road, Orleans, MA.
