

Ronald John Evanko, 58, of Eastham, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday September 5, 2015. He leaves behind his loving son Christopher Liberty. Nothing made him smile brighter than the mention of Chris. He loved him dearly.
Ron was born in Bridgeport, CT and moved to Brewster, MA at a young age where he excelled in academics and sports. Ron attended Nauset Regional High School and went on to work for his grandfather at Hitchcock Gas Engine Company in Connecticut. Ron spent several years enlisted in the Navy, and returned to the Cape to work for Lower Cape Foundations and various other concrete foundation companies. He had most recently received his contractors’ license at Cape Cod Community College, which he was most proud of.
Ron was an avid sports fan and loved to fish. When a game was on he was glued to the T.V. He also had a love for writing and painting.
Ron is predeceased by his father, Ronald Evanko, and grandparents, Dorothy and John Brown. He is survived by his only son, Christopher Liberty of Harwich; mother and step-dad, Dorothy (Daisy) and Clarence Whatmough of Orleans; sister Lynda Joy and her husband Peter of Orleans; sister Lizabeth Harris-Casty and her husband David of California; brother John Ohmann and his wife Liz of Marstons Mills; step-sister Lynn Borisoff and her husband Michael of Oregon; step-brother Brian Whatmough and Cheryl of Dennis; step-brother Garyn Whatmough and his wife Rachel of Rhode Island; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and his beloved high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Jamie White of Orleans.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 25 at 2PM at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA 02653; followed by burial in the Orleans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron's memory to Orleans Fire & Rescue.
