

Sandra Eileen Finlay, 72 of Orleans, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023. Sandra was born on December 15, 1950 to James Caton and Dorothy Wolfe in Holyoke, Ma. In her early years, she travelled all across the country to different forts due to her father’s job as a flight instructor for the US air force. In 1965, she finally settled down in Wellfleet, Ma where she met her late husband, Edward A. Finlay of Cape Cod. Edward and their son Seth Finlay were master electricians. Sandra was an accomplished woman, even graduating top of her class at Bridgewater State College in 1999 for Social Work.
She had a strong love for nature. She was passionate about gardening and loved taking beautiful nature walks. She adored all animals, especially golden retrievers. She also had a love for cooking, a love she passed down to her children. She enjoyed her quiet and relaxing life but was never shy from finding amazing adventures for her and her family. She was a traveler and had a fondness for creating new experiences with her family. She also loved music and enjoy going to many concerts over the years.
Sandra had two wonderful children, Seth A Finlay born in 1973 and Hannah C. Finlay born in 1976. She truly lived for her children. Later on in her life, she was gifted two beautiful grandchildren, the twins, Seth A. Finlay the second and Sara M. Finlay. Sandra was devoted to helping raise her amazing grandchildren. She also leaves behind her loving golden retriever named Huachuca “Chookie”, she named her after Fort Huachuca that her father was stationed on. Sandra leaves many wonderful nieces and nephews as well.
Sandra was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward A. Finlay, and son, Seth A. Finlay.
In lieu of flowers, her daughter, Hannah Finlay, asked for any bereavement cards to be sent to her mailing address at P.O. Box 537, Orleans, Ma 02653.
