William Burland

William E. Burland, 84, of Brewster, MA. He passed away at his home in Brewster, MA on October 7, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Frances C. (Lizak), father of Lynn Park of Ware, Jeff Burland of Willington, CT and Scott Burland of Atlanta, GA. He was the son of the late Ralph and the late Mildred (Busch) Burland. He was the loving brother of Philip of Westfield and the late Dorothy Doyle of Newburyport. He is also survived by two grandsons Nathan and Joshua Park of Ware.

He was a retired manager of Harwich Stop & Shop Pharmacy and was the owner of East Springfield Pharmacy. He was a Korean war veteran, who served proudly in the U.S. Naval Reserve between ‘47-‘50 and active duty from ‘51-‘53 in the Pacific Theater. He was the former president of Chatham Rotary Club of which he had 42 years perfect attendance. He graduated from the class of '58 from the Hampden College of Pharmacy.

His wishes were to be cremated with private services at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA

Bill was working on preparations for the annual Chatham Rotary Club Scallop Festival. In lieu of flowers, he would be overjoyed if everyone attended on Oct. 19, 2013 from 12:30 – 8pm at the Longshore Restaurant, 1077 Main St., Chatham, MA 02633. http://bit.ly/GQPW6F
