Alice Travers

A mass of Christian burial for Alice Martins Travers, who passed away on May 14, 2011 at her home, will be 10:00 am on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Saint Brendan’s Catholic Church, 1000 Oceanshore Blvd., Ormond Beach, with the Reverend James Queen as the officiant. The interment will be at Fero Memorial Gardens, Beverly Hills, FL.

Mrs. Travers was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in New Bedford, Massachusetts. She moved to Ormond Beach in 1995 from Inverness, FL. She was a member of Saint Brendan’s Catholic Church and the Ormond By The Sea AARP. Mrs. Travers was a stay at home mother for most of her life, with the exception of a few years of working in retail. She loved visiting with neighbors and friends and traveling, particularly cruises. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, John Tavares and John Travers as well as brother, Joseph and sisters, Emily and Mary.

Mrs. Travers leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Lucille Tavares; stepsons, Robert Travers, Bradenton, FL and James Travers, N. Dighton, MA; step daughter, Carol Stevens, Keene, N.H. and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Saint Brendan's Catholic Church Outreach Program, 1000 Oceanshore Blvd., Ormond Beach, FL 32176.
