Amy Murphy-DeMeo

cancer. Amy was born on May 12, 1956 in Buffalo New York to June and Brendon Murphy.

She was a graduate of the University of Buffalo New York where she concentrated in theatre

and philosophy which sparked her unending quest for knowledge and her love of music.

She moved to Boston Massachusetts where she met the love of her life, Pasquale

“Pat” DeMeo whom she married on April 23, 1989. She and her husband moved to Ormond

Beach Florida in1998 where they resided together until her passing.

Amy began her career working for TWA out of New York where she enjoyed the travel

that it afforded her. After that she held hospitality management positions in Massachusetts and

Florida. In addition to this she volunteered time to various theatre and local political groups.

She is survived by her loving husband and soul mate of 36 years Pat DeMeo, her three

sisters; Karen Garibaldi of Tarrytown New York (and husband John), Shaun Goodrich of Palm

Coast Florida (and husband Gary) and Lynn Murphy of Boston Massachusetts. Amy is also

survived by her beloved and loving nieces and nephews: Cynthia and Christopher Garibaldi,

Conor, Colin and Logan Goodrich, Caitlyn and Mikayla Treem, along with her 5 great nieces

and nephews.

In honor of her love for her family she researched and documented the family ancestry

going back to the 1700’s, a gift she will be remembered for. That, in addition to her unending

love and support of her nieces and nephews will be her legacy. She was a lover of the arts and

an advocate and lover of all animals. She will be remembered for her unwavering belief in making

the world a better place and in defending constitutional rights as evidenced by her tireless

efforts towards that end.
