

Memorial Service for Barry Francis Neall, retired Captain with the Daytona Beach Police Department will be 1pm Saturday April 11 at the chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach. Barry Francis Neall was born September 29, 1938, in Rochester, New York, to Frank and Jane Neall. He passed peacefully at his home in Daytona Beach, at age 76, on Good Friday, April 3, 2015. Barry graduated locally from Mainland High School, and went on to attend Rollins College. He received a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and used his education to pursue his passion of becoming a police officer. As a young man, Barry served his country for two years in the U.S. Navy. He also served his community on the Daytona Beach Police Department for thirty years. His roles included President of Fraternal Order of Police and Captain of the Criminal Investigation Division. He is described by his peers as a great leader and an outstanding police officer. His wife of 34 years, Charlotte, bore him three beautiful children, Beverly, David, and Becky. Lovingly known as Pop pop, Barry spent most of his free time outdoors and with his family. Boating, fishing, golfing, skiing, camping and spoiling his grandkids and dog, Bear, were among his favorite things to do. He played a big part in teaching all of his kids and grandkids how to swim. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Barry was predeceased by his parents and son, Frank, Jane and David Neall, who, with Christ, have prepared a place in Heaven for him. Surviving family members include two daughters, Beverly Morelli and Becky Rossi, and grandchildren Alysa (Zachary) Johnston, Anthony and Ashley Morelli, Brittany (Thomas) Zaharios, and Michael, Brianna, and Harley Rossi, and four great grandchildren.
