

She attended nursing school along with her twin sister, Ruth. She married John G. Miller, Jr. and resided in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She is survived by her three children, John (Maureen) of Des Moines, Iowa; Lynda (Michael) Avallone of St. Augustine, Florida, and Donald (Jennifer) of Holmes Beach, Florida, one grandson David Miller and one great-grandson Martin both of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by her nephew Rick O’Brien and his fiancé (JoAnne Detzel) of Ormond Beach, Florida, niece Kathy (James) Crask of Isle, Minnesota, and her sister-in-law Judy Burns of Ormond Beach, Florida.
Carolyn worked for the State of New Hampshire as a Certification Officer, and later moved to Florida, where she worked for the Volusia County Council of Aging. She worked there until she was 89, “taking care of the old folks” many of whom were younger than she. She helped a great many people and will be missed beyond words. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, playing cribbage and was a voracious reader.
A mass of Christian burial will be held in the chapel of the Prince of Peace Church on September 27, 2022, at 10:00 A.M., Ormond Beach, FL. Burial will be held on October 3, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at West Parish Garden Cemetery, Andover, Massachusetts.
