Dale Parker went home to be with our Lord on December 30, 2010 in Salisbury, MD. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday January 8, 2011 in The Ormond Beach Chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Volusia Memorial Park, 550 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach.
Born in Milford, Delaware he was the son of Samuel and Lyda Parker. He had chosen the employing job of transportation which took him all over the country. He started out working for J.I. Wells Inc., of Salisbury, MD. Around 1975 he and his family moved to Florida where he continued in the same line of work driving for Sea Ray Boats, Bob Allen, Sunflower and Snyder trucking companies. He loved trucking but his most precious times were at home with his wife and family, including all their beloved pets. He enjoyed the warmth of Florida, camping, and Nascar racing, and taking care of all of God's creatures around their home. He was a kind man who would lend a hand to those in need. He will be sorely missed by dear friends, Roschen and Rose Hill of Delaware. Longtime neighbors, Bumper and Sandy, Stella, Jim and Sandy and countless more he had met along the way.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Elsie Mae Parker; his parents, a sister, Doris Carmean of Delaware; and many nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind with cherished memories, his daughters, Doris (Mark) Brown, Pamela King (Dale and Family); Stepsons, Roland Marker Jr. (Gina) and Charles Marker. Grandsons, Buddy Marker, Shane Marker, Charles Marker, Christopher Foster, Joshua Foster, and Granddaughter, Kellie Mae Marker. One great-grandson, Brandon J. Marker.
Arrangements are under the care and trust of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach.
