Danny Morris, 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 16, 2025. Born in Aurora, Illinois, on May 15, 1946, to Blanche and Peter Morris, Danny's warmth, humor, and larger-than-life personality touched everyone he met. He truly was the life of every party.
He was a devoted husband to his wife, Mary Morris, and a loving father to his daughters, Lisa Landsman (Jon) and Jennifer Patronski (Jack). He adored his grandsons, Grayson and Tate Landsman. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Peskind, was a beloved "Uncle Danny" to many, and made friends wherever he went. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Morris.
Danny was a second-generation owner of the family business, the Aurora News Agency. After moving his family to Clearwater, Florida in 1979, he owned and operated Hallmark stores before transitioning to the childcare industry. He owned and invested in childcare centers and became a passionate advocate for high-quality, affordable early childhood education, serving on various boards and working with the state government. He also worked as a real estate broker and was known for his love of making deals. A natural leader throughout his various careers, Danny was also a respected mentor and boss to many. He was an active member of Temple Ahavat Shalom, serving in multiple roles, including treasurer.
Danny will be remembered for his infectious smile, his generous spirit, and his ability to light up any room. He was a loyal friend, an ambitious golfer (despite his self-proclaimed lack of skill), and a devoted fan of chocolate chip cookies, Portillo's, Manny's Deli, and anything from Dairy Queen.
