I always felt a deep connection with my Uncle David.  If you asked me to make a list of the people I care the most about, he'd be near the very top. He was one of those people who only put o  his 'fun face', but I always knew he had a lot of depth too. We all have a choice in what foot we put forward for others to see, and I admire him for always showing his fun loving  side. It's interesting that people know our struggles in spite of what we put forward for them to see. And that is why I admire the entire Bennett family family;  they saw the support David needed throughout different stages of his life, and they always rose to the challenge and offered him what he needed along the way. Each of you should be very proud of that.  I always looked forward to seeing David at family gatherings because he always had something up his sleeve. Try not to be too sad. I am certain if he had a chance to attend his own funeral, he'd likely be caught up laughing at something like I've seen him do at other family events.  'Never forget that security rests in Christ's faithfulness first. Our faith rises and falls. It has degrees. We are not saved by producing faith on our own, and then making that the basis of our new birth. Goodbye, David, my brother (in-law). You were the brother I didn't have growing up. Thanks for filling those shoes! I hope your restless soul has found the peace for which it was searching.

David you are gone but never forgotten... i will never forget the great time i had and how you made my 30th birthday party a real sensation. You were a very good friend to me and this world is a colder place with your passing.

I had the pleasure of working and hanging out with David. With him around work didn't seem like work. His since of humor and great attitude of life were very inspiring.

David will be missed by many people. David was someone who enjoyed life and didn't have a mean bone in his body. He brought  laughter and happiness to alot of people. His pure joy for life is something I will not forget

It is with deep sadness that I send this to you and your family. I worked under David and he was my boss and a friend. Nobody ever treated me as well as David did. He was a good manager who knew how to treat his employees. Some of my fondest memories were working for David. David lived life and loved life. When I learned of your passing, so many memories flooded my mind.  Your smile, your laugh, your humor, and so many great times!  Most of all, you were always willing to help anyone in need. On my way home from Knoxville where we worked a lot together I thought about how much the employees there loved you. I thought about how you always had a smile on your face and had such a positive outlook even though you were going through a alot. I admired how you never complained and defended your family and friends to the end. We always had so much fun and I have lost a brother and a friend. You were very talented at your work. I am happy this past year we told each other we loved each other even in adversity. I know you deep down appreciated me trying to help you. My heart goes out to Jenny, Brian, our mom, you're siblings and everyone else that loved you. I'm comforted to know you are in Heaven. David was fun, always wearing a smile, attentive to the conversation of others and  ready to respond. He could think up something funny to say in the moment, and when anyone else said something, he could add to it and turn it into a laughing situation. 
 He enjoyed the company of friendship, and he was always proud to pose with sincere happiness in family photos.
He could be laid back, enjoying the simple things in life, such as giving each duck in a flock a name, and adventurous, setting out to go new places, and seeing new sights. He loved to be outdoors, and he loved and cared for his animals. 
He had a creative side. His artistic ability, once in a blue moon, would come out when he would sing the songs heard at Italian restaurants, and although he didn't draw a lot, when he did, his picture would be surprizingly good. 
David worked hard and would rather be working than sitting around. He was willing to lend a helping hand, and go out of his way to lend a helping hand. 
He was an excellent cook, and when he shared his cooking, he was proud to see you take a bite. It was in the context of cooking, that the thoughtfulness of his heart shined. Through cooking, he served, weather it was baking batches of cookies for school students, making a favorite pie for a sick person, cooking his family guests a bowl of soup, catering, and restaurant work.
David was always glad to be with you, as a friend, and as family. He made friends easy, and he was kind and polite to strangers, and elderly people. 
I love my brother dearly, as I do all my family, and I'll miss him. His big smile, his humor, his thoughtfulness, and his loving nature, is what will stay in my heart and memories about him. His children, Brian and Jenny, and his grandson, Matthew are very precious, and all I have to do to continue to see David's smile, is to see them smile.
All my righteousness is as filthy rags, but God is good, and there's nothing we can do to get to heaven, but to trust in the forgiveness of our sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. Because of this, we can be together again. David believed in Jesus.
I feel totally peaceful and assured that David is in Heaven, in no more pain, but instead using his gifts in a new and exciting way, filled with joy and still smiling in the company of our loved ones that have gone before us.  
I'm so privileged to have Davis Samuel Bennet as my brother.

Dear sweet David, I will always remember ur sweet smile and that crazy sense of humor ! I will only think of happy times like racquet ball, hanging out talking snd eating by the beach.  I know you were greeted  with open arms from Your Dad , my Dad , your Grandparents , aunts, uncles and cousins! You are truly missed , you will always be loved snd never forgotten ! Rest in peace , I love you ! Amazing Grace, how great you are, my chains are gone, I've  been set free!  God has you now!  Love is forever!

I was 5 years old when you joined our family! I remember exactly how peaceful your face looked the first time I was allowed to hold you. Life is but a vapor, it passes by in an instant. I'm so happy that you have peace again little brother.
