Dennis A. Johnson

Dennis A. Johnson, 68, of Ormond Beach, FL passed from this life on Saturday August 29, 2015. He was born on January 28, 1947 at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, FL to Merle and Lucille Johnson. Dennis graduated from Mainland High School in 1966. He attended some college and completed his apprenticeship in the Local IBEW hall, to become a Journeyman Lineman. Dennis met his beloved wife Carol when they were Seniors in High School. They were married on December 31, 1982. Together they became involved in the Community United Methodist Church. Dennis was a Journeyman Lineman for Florida Power and Light for many years. He was a member of the IBEW Local # 1066, 756 and 222, the Lighter Knots Hunting Club, and the Florida Bowhunter Council. He was also a Reserve Game Warden for Florida Fish and Wildlife.

Dennis is survived by; his beloved wife of over 30 years, Carol Mead Johnson, his children; William Johnson, Timothy Johnson, Barbara Anne Weiss and Dennis Johnson, Jr., his grandchildren; Joshua Johnson, Brian Weiss, Tyler Johnson, Mark Johnson, Kaila Weiss, Brandon Weiss and Zachery Weiss and his great-granddaughter Analeigh Johnson. Dennis was preceded in death by his granddaughter Jenny Johnson.

The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Saturday September 5, 2015 at the Community United Methodist Church located at 616 Harvey Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32118. An inurnment will take place at a later date with family only. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Community United Methodist Church for their food pantry.
