

Doris Jean Haynes, 78, died peacefully in Daytona Beach at Good Samaritan Skilled Nursing Home on May 24, 2015 at 2:17a.m. Doris was born on July 9, 1936 in Mount Olive, North Carolina to the late King C. Stuart and Lillie Bell Whitfield. She graduated from Parker Gray High School as the Salutatorian in Alexandria, Virginia. Later she moved to New York City and pursued a career as a medical transcriptionist. Doris is predeceased by her husband, Edmund J. Haynes, whom she married on September 30, 1967. Left to cherish Doris’ memory is her daughter Jacqueline Denise Sparks, grandson JaVaughn Domonique Sparks along with a host of family and friends. Doris was a loving, generous, witty and dedicated individual who loved the Lord and was passionate about education. She sang in the church choir and was heavily involved in her church and community. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 1:00p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, FL.
