

Memorial Service for Jim Gilbert who passed away February 7, 2011 at Southeast Volusia Hospice Care Center will be 11am Friday February 18 at Faith Church of United Bretheran in Christ 4700 S. Clyde Morris Boulevard, Port Orange. Mr. Gilbert was born in Boyertown, PA and moved to this area in 1977 from Bradley Beach, PA. He was a former security guard at the Justice Center in Daytona and a member of Faith Church of United Bretheran in Christ. Mr. Gilbert was an Army Korean War veteran and a member of VFW Post # 3282. His hobbies include REACT Ham Radio group, Christian Motorcycle Association, traveling, playing the drums and Bluegrass music. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; three sons, Steven Gilbert, Rochester, NY, Kerry Gilbert, Patterson, NY, and Carl Roper, Ocala; Two Daughters, Vikki Gilbert, Winner, SD and Lisa Engel, Ft. Pierce, FL; Four grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Anthony, and Courtney; Two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Bailey. The family kindly asks donations be made in Mr. Gilbert's memory to Council on Aging Respite Program, 160 N. Beach Street, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
