Francis "Frank" W. Curran

Francis W. Curran, aged 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2023 in Ormond Beach, FL surrounded by loved ones.

He was born on September 29, 1940 in Jersey City, NJ where he spent his childhood. At age 17, Francis enlisted in the United States Air Force, an experience he was always proud of and one that taught him the value of discipline, hard work, and the importance of investing in others.

Upon completion of his service, Francis moved to Keansburg, NJ where he met the love of his life, Carolyn (Burdy) Curran. The two relocated to Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1974 where they married and shared almost 50 happy years together.

Francis had one daughter, Kerry Patterson and her husband Mike Patterson of Ormond Beach, FL. He had two grandchildren, Patrick Patterson and Meagan Patterson. He was the brother of the late Virginia McGovern (deceased) and Gail Baker (deceased) and brother-in-law to Frances Pagani and Mary Ann McKeon (deceased). He had many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Francis was a friend to everyone. He was funny, kind, and generous with an infectious smile. Truly loved by all. His passion was his family – especially his grandchildren. Francis was an avid softball player (adult and senior), life-long self learner, and loved to travel.

A funeral mass for Francis will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 South Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, Florida.

Francis will be laid to rest in Volusia Memorial Park, 558 N Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Francis' memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or AdventHealth Hospice.
