

Funeral Services honoring the life of James Benjamin Johnson 84 of Ormond Beach will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in Daytona Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Mr. Johnson, a longtime resident of Volusia County, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at his residence. He was born on December 30, 1935 in Toomsula Mississippi, a son of the late Girrell Lee and Katie Jarman Johnson. Mr. Johnson was the retired owner of Jim’s Air Conditioning and Heating Company in Daytona Beach and was a proud veteran serving in the US Marine Corp for 6 years. He was a true family man, who loved visiting with his friends and family and especially loved working on everyone’s car. Mr. Johnson enjoyed doing yardwork and traveling and for many years served as a licensed Pentecostal preacher. Surviving are his wife, Anne W. Johnson, two sons, James B. Johnson Jr. and his wife Maria and Joshua Herman Johnson and his wife Jeannie both of Pierson FL, his daughter, Jarice Lee Strickland of Waynesboro GA., a step son, Donnie Cross and his wife Teri of Flagler Beach, and a step-daughter Terri Martin and her husband Hugh of Spotsylvania County VA., thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, his sister Merlene Lovelace of Satsuma AL, six brothers, G.L. Johnson of Cottageville WV, Lester Johnson of White Creek TN, Glen Johnson of Douglasville GA, Karl Johnson of Philadelphia TN, Ira Johnson of Milton FL, Henry Johnson of Pensacola FL and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach FL.
