Jack was born in Oswego, NY, on June 30, 1920, to Anna (Burke) and David Martin Finn. Jack was stationed in Washington, DC with the US Army from 1943-1946 as a Technical Sergeant with the Office of Strategic Services. He married Marjorie Christensen on Feb 2, 1945. After the war, he worked for the CIA until his retirement in 1977. He counted himself fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve 2 tours of duty overseas, in Greece and Thailand. During his career, he earned a B.A. from the University of Maryland. Upon retirement, Jack and Marj moved to Ormond Beach, where they enjoyed playing bridge, dining out, reading, gardening, and attending performances. Jack was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Club, and the Tomoka Oaks Golf and Country Club, as well as being a long-time parishioner and usher at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He served in different positions on the Tomoka Oaks Condominium Association, where he was often head of the Sunshine Club. Jack had a ready smile and positive word for everyone, a trait that only increased with age.
He leaves behind Marjorie, his beloved wife of 66 years, as well as children Thomas (NH), Christine (MD) and Kathleen (CA), and grandchildren Alice (FL), Erik (NH), Sophia (CA), and Fiona (CA). His older brother, Owen Vincent Finn, passed away in 1961. His brother’s remaining children, Patricia (FL), Mary Lourdes (CO/FL), Eileen (CO), and Kathleen (CA), also remember Jack as a loving uncle.
