

John P. Mallory, age 91, passed away peacefully the morning of May 12, 2015. John was born in Georgetown, KY to the late Charles W. and Ella T. (Sinclair) Mallory on Sept. 24, 1923. After being discharged from the Army in 1946, John moved to the Daytona Beach area and attended D.B.C.C. where he attained the skills needed in the printing trade. He worked at Couchman printing as a young man, eventually purchasing the business in 1954. Soon after buying his business he married his loving wife Catheleen in 1955, they were married 59 years. John and Cathy lived Ormond Beach for many years. During John’s honorable service to our country he saw several battles in WWII, including Normandy and Reinland, earning 4 Bronze stars and many other medals. John’s passions were his family and his business. He and his wife Cathy worked in the print shop together for many years. He also enjoyed golf when he had time to fit in a round despite being very busy with the shop. John will be missed dearly by his wife, family and friends; he will be remembered for his hard work and his witty humor. John is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Catherine, Eva, Bernadette, Rose, Irene, Frances and Marguerite; brothers, Charles, Anthony and James.He is survived by his wife Catheleen of 59 years; brother Robert Mallory of St. Petersburg, FL; sister-in-law Nancy (Richard) Blazek of Grapevine, TX. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 from 12:00- 1:00 pm at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 S. Nova Rd, Ormond Beach. A funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 pm.
