John Scheetz

John H. Scheetz, 82, died September 28, 2012, at his home in Ormond by The Sea with his wife Maggie by his side. John was born in Sellersville, PA. on August 15, 1931 to Charles and Dorothy Scheetz. John moved to Ormond by the Sea from Westhampton Beach, NY in 1998. He retired from the Suffolk County Water Authority as Executive Secretary. John has a Bachelor of Arts from Penn State University and is a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. John had a very busy and varied career and was the owner and publisher of The Long Island News for many years and the Owner of Pride Guides, a tourist publication company in Eastern Long Island. Throughout his lifetime John loved collecting antiques especially trains and banks and owned an antique store at one time. He is survived by his wife of 17 years Maggie, daughter Marybeth Rible (Alan), Stepdaughter Regina Stagliano (David), sons John B. & Brian; sister and brother- in- law Denise & Luigi Bamonte; Nephew Richard Scheetz (Nancy), Nieces Dorothy Crotty, Debbie Croft (Patrick), Cindy Champion (Chris) & Susan Walters (Louis) , Grandsons Jack Rible, Matthew John Stagliano, Thomas Scheetz and many great nieces and nephews. John also loved animals and is survived by his faithful Chin-Chin & Moxie. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 10:00 am, at Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church, Ormond Beach, FL.
