On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, Martha Ann Sims, a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, departed this earthly life at age 88. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Dan, on February 3, 2021.
Martha was born on September 6, 1932, in Macon, GA. She was born to William (Bill) Bennett and Anne Mae Summerford Bennett. In 1945, Martha and her family moved to Florida where her dad took a job at the Nash car dealership with his brother-in-law. She attended Mainland High School, where she met the love of her life, William Dan Sims, Sr. Dan and Martha were married September 5, 1954 and they raised two sons, William (“Danny”) Sims, Jr., and Michael (“B”) Sims.
Martha departs this earth to join her parents, Bill and Mae, and siblings James, Bill Jr. and Bruce. Her legacy lives on through her two sons, Danny and Michael; her two daughters-in-law, Robin and Teri; her grandchildren, Matthew, Haley, Tyler, and Jeff.
Martha will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 20, at 10:00 am, at the Volusia Memorial Funeral Home. Her family is forever in debt to those who created memories with her and helped over the last few years.
