Around or about the year 1953 Mary became part of our family. Elaine Alfonzo, Gloria Haynes (Elaine's Daughter, our Grandmother/Mother) became Mary's guardian and since then she has been part of our family.
Ms. Alfonzo as Mary called her, remained her inspiration, friend, and idol. Mary moved to Palm Coast, Florida from Queens New York with Ms. Alfonzo around 1995. Ms. Alfonzo is how Mary would address Elaine. After Elaine's death in 20061\fary remained in Florida and enjoyed her independence and the friendship of very caring neighbors anyone would wish to have. She cherished them all. The family will always be grateful. Mary's life revolved around Elaine's family and Grandchildren Karen Aguilera and Kevin Haynes.
Mary loved worshiping at St. Thomas Episcopal Church where she would attend thanks to church volunteers and friends who picked her up every Sunday. Mary loved spending time in her garden, watching television, shopping and her daily routine around the house.
In 2018 her niece Karen took on the responsibility of caring for Mary and brought her to New York with her when she had health issues that landed her in hospitals and nursing home facilities in Florida. Mary had always hoped to return to Florida someday, as Ms.
Elaine and Mary had always planned.
Mary will always be remembered and loved by all whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace in God's care.
Mary leaves to mourn Gloria Haynes, Karen Aguilera, Kevin Haynes, Niyiah Aguilera, Natasha Aguilera Nesha Sands, Claude Haynes III, Cydnee Haynes, Dian Haynes, Veronica Haynes, Sean Frazier, Damoye Green, Grand Nieces and Nephews Deborah Farrell, Denise Farrell, Rosa Farrell, David Farrell, Don Farrell,James Farrell, Glason Farrell ,Lauren, London, Tristan Gianna, Nirvanna, August, Indigo, Chi, and many others.
