Patricia I. Ward

Patricia I. Ward, 87, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and caregiver. Born on December 17, 1937, in Roanoke, Virginia, to parents Maurice and Mabel Ingerson, Patricia moved with her family to Florida at the age of six. She attended school in Daytona Beach and graduated from Seabreeze High School in 1957. After graduating from Winthrop College in South Carolina, she married Harold Dean Ward in Daytona Beach.

Patricia was known for her witty humor by all who knew her. As a lifelong educator, Patricia was dedicated to encouraging students, family and friends to achieve their fullest potential. Her legacy as an accomplished educator, compassionate, kind lady and loving mom will be fondly remembered.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dean on August 28, 2023. Dean was born February 16, 1938, in Pensacola, Florida, and was a retired bank executive.

Patricia is survived by her daughter Cheryl, son Randall (wife Trudy), many extended family members, neighbors and friends.

Our family would like to give special thanks to her medical doctors, Seniors Helping Seniors, Halifax Health Hospice in Ormond Beach and her loving caregiver Cynthia who was with Patricia and her family until the end.

In honor of Patricia there will be a Celebration of Life at a date and time to be announced. To honor Dean’s wishes, he simply wanted family and friends to enjoy an evening out and have a great time.

Patricia and Dean will always be remembered in our thoughts and prayers as caring, giving and loving parents.

In lieu of flowers, those that wish may make donations in Pat and Dean’s honor to Halifax Health Hospice in Ormond Beach.

Arrangements are under the direction of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home Ormond Beach.
