Robert E. Huggard

Robert E. Huggard, age 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 28, 2014. Bob was born in Detroit, MI to the late George and Annis (Johnston) Huggard. He served our country honorably in the U.S. Navy, until discharge in 1945. In the Navy, he was a "Seabee", the Seabees have a history of building bases, bulldozing and paving thousands of miles of roadway and airstrips, and accomplishing numerous construction projects in a wide variety of military theaters dating back to World War II. Bob worked for General Motors for 45 years and retired to the Ormond Beach area in 1986. Earlier in life he and his wife Moyra enjoyed bowling, traveling. He was known by his family as an adventurist type of person, never afraid to try something new.

Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife Moyra of 72 years.

He is survived by his daughter Linda Ervin of Ormond Beach, FL; son Robert G. Huggard and wife Linda of Canton, MI; daughter Gayle Clark of Ormond Beach, FL; grandchildren Kevin Huggard, Robert Edward Huggard, III and Victoria Saunders; great-grandchildren Charlotte and Joseph Huggard.

A funeral service will be held at Tomoka Christian Church, 1450 Hand Avenue, Ormond Beach, FL 32174 Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Condolences may be shared by visiting www.volusiamemorialfunerals.com
