My first memory of my sister in law was waking up in her dorm following a Halloween party at Marshall and being introduced to an Oreo cookie costumed person as Greg’s little sister!

I remember the card games with you and Greg prior to your marriage and the purple crushed velvet pants you gifted me. 

 The years and life flew by and once again the family reunited for Thanksgiving holidays, so much love and life to catch up on.

I’m so thankful for the “Sally years “ and the laughter you brought to our SCIB weekends.  

You will be remembered and toasted every year as we don our Sally gear and watch the sunset on the river. 

Until we meet again, I will carry you in my heart, love to you dear sister-in-law, Rest in Heaven.



I have so many fond memories of my Aunt Sally throughout the years. Growing up, I loved staying at Aunt Sally and Uncle Greg's house in Tampa or when they'd visit my Nana for a few days and I'd get to see them because they were always so kind to me. Aunt Sally would always have something she saved especially for me - usually it was a little craft to do together, nail polish, stickers, or some other fun surprise that made me feel so special - and my Uncle Greg would always make chocolate fudge and have a funny story to tell. He used to always say "Allie Allie Income Free" in a sing-song voice and I'm not sure why to this day, but it always made Aunt Sally, me and my dad laugh. 

Aunt Sally had an especially kind heart and was such a creative spirit. I remember taking our time in the floral aisles at Hobby Lobby so I could make a wreath for my front door and she could make one for Hayley. It was a hard decision to pick what would look best because she wanted it to look perfect for Hayley's front door to surprise her. She was very thoughtful and took the time to do little things to make myself and other people in her life feel cared for. 

I will miss my Aunt Sally dearly and will always hold a special place for her in my heart.

Sally will forever be young in my mind, as we were when we first met at the age of 17. April Shuck,  Sally and myself  were all Seniors from different  high schools that met at work. And as it turned out my mother and Helen had known each other as neighbors in their younger days. We three formed a bond that carried us through high school and then our college days at WVa State. Such wonderful  times,  shared laugher and youth, trips to Emerald Island to the beach house. I had the honor of being a bridesmaid in her and Greg's wedding, she was so beautiful. 
I remember her and Greg's first married years, going over to their 
apartment on weekends and Greg always fixing pitchers of strawberry daiquiri. 
Life led our paths down different  roads, and I spent the next several decades living in Germany and England. I will always be grateful  to April who kept our friendship alive.  Sally was a true friend that time or distance never changed. She had the coolest clothes and nail polish too! She was love, laughter and smiles.....giggles that left tracks of tears on your face. 
And she will forever be 17 in my heart!

Sally, so sweet and so kind. So full of love. Thank you for all of the laughs and memories I will  cherish always. You made everywhere you went your runway. Truly an icon, a fashion icon as well. Girls Weekend won’t be the same without you. Sending all of my love and support to Hayley, Nick, and family.

My first memory of Sally was while visiting Lisa (Gregs little sister) at their home on Forest Circle in South Charleston. 

Sally & Greg were sitting together in the front room, . . . (I think Greg was playing the guitar. ). Sally was so pretty, dressed  in her bell bottoms, a vivacious smile and beautiful long hair!  

She reminded me of Carley Simon - I thought Greg & Sally we’re so cool! 
- that was 1978.

In 1991 when Glen & I married, Sally became my sister in-law and friend!  

I’ll never forget what a loving Aunt she was to my Allie.  The bags of scrunchies, nail polish and thoughtful gifts she always had for Allie.  

So many wonderful memories of our times together at the beach when the kids were young.  Holidays & Christmas at the Heathrow house with Gerry & Helen will never be forgotten! 

You raised great kids!  I am so proud of my sweet niece Hayley and Nick too. 

Know that I will always be here for your whole family. 

Each year, on your birthday, I will honor you with a candle a toast and happy memories of the times we shared.

Sally, where do I start. ...so many years of memories are flowing through my head.  You were one of the first people that I met when we moved to River Hills.  Your welcoming smile made me feel at home.  I loved the way you would say "Nick" with 3 syllables!  We had so many fun times, just sitting in my driveway while the boys were riding their Little Tyke's bikes! I will never forget the amazing "Free Willy" costume you made for Eddie, of course, he won first prize!  So creative, you truly were born on the right day, Halloween, the ultimate costume lady! I am glad I was there for you when Hayley got in a car accident, not serious, thank goodness.  But glad I could calm you down and have a beer with you.  We used to joke about how crazy things would happen to both of us, we had that common bond and just rolled with it!  Even though you moved, away we still kept in touch by phone.  I write this with tears streaming down my face, knowing that I cannot call, catch up and share whatever crazy stories are going on in our lives.  But I find comfort knowing you are at peace and reunited with Greg. 

I have many memories of Sally, your family, and the many times we have shared.  One seems to stand out.  After Sally fell at our house and cracked a bone in her arm it did not keep her from swimming with one arm in the pool during our annual trip to Myrtle Beach.  That always has impressed me.  Of course many many more fond memories space does not permit.

Hayley, Nick, Mrs. Ray, Phoebe & Bucky, and Glen, although I am unable to be with you, know my thoughts and prayers are with you.

So so sorry to hear about Sally. I became friends with her in junior high when we were cheerleaders together. Oh what fun we had. Every time she would come and stay all night at my house she would always bring her Chef Boyardee cheese box pizza. Lol
She was also one of my bridesmaids when I got married. Even though we lost contact with each other after a while I’d think of her every know and then especially when I would see a Chef Boyardee pizza. 
What a great loss for everyone. My love and prayers go out to her family. 🙏🏻

Such a dear sister in law, I will forever miss your laugh.  My first memories of you were when you and Greg took me to the beach with you.  We laid out in the sun with our foil blankets and you tanned and I burned!  My latest memories will forever be of the girls weekends we shared.  You will forever be the "princess".  I loved the way you could laugh at yourself when we would call you princess.  You were the best at Cards Against Humanity and had all of us laughing until we were crying.  I will never forget your stories of your youth you shared with us.  We were all so impressed with how smart you were to get us out of the Great Escape rooms.  I always admired your style and you always looked so classy.  I will miss you and promise to always look after Hayley and Nick.  May you rest in peace until we see each other again.

Sally was so fortunate to have a great love all of her life and to give the world two wonderful kids. Sally is the only woman on the planet who could absolutely ROCK a rain bonnet and that perfect eyeliner during a torrential downpour!     A true style icon!    Thank you for every laugh and smile Sally, you will be missed and I shall cherish each memory. I send my love and peace to all.

I was a cheerleader  with Sally Ray back at Spring Hill Jr. Highschool in South Charleston, West Virginia. I remember her as a tiny, spunky, fun-loving girl who got along with everyone...always a smile on her face, never an unkind word and always a laugh. I'm very sorry to hear of her untimely passing and sending love to the beautiful family she surely created around her. Unfortunately, after high school, our paths never crossed again, and I'm sure I've missed knowing the beautiful woman she became. With love, Deborah Hanna

Oh Sally, I have so many memories of us growing up together, our families intertwined in so many ways. Our lives took us in different directions but you were always there in my heart where we keep the people we love. I’m so happy we found each other and rekindled our friendship as Queenagers.  Your sweet “Hello” you always answered your phone with, our conversations going from funny silly nonsense to solving world issues and figuring out world peace if people would’ve just listened to us. One of the things I liked most about our conversations was when we ended them we did it with I love you’s so fly high my sweet friend, I will miss you! I love you, Marilyn

I will miss our phone calls that began with “Hi Valerie, it’s your cousin Sally” and always ended up with an “I love you”.  We always caught up on kids and life and our shared “electronic device” issues. Guess that’s why us “old” girls should not have cell phones. 🤪 Covid prevented us from doing as many dinners as we talked about but we had a few and laughed a lot.  I love you and will see you again. ❤️

I love you Sally! Not loved, LOVE because I know you are alive in heaven and I will see you again one day. I will miss your sweet voice but I can hear your "happy birthday" greeting to me any time I want because its saved on my voicemail ... that makes me smile. I will never forget you. I was so proud to hang out with you when we were young and would visit West Virginia. Rock Lake ... eating Rice A Roni in the middle of the night ... your hair in orange juice concentrate cans at night ... and your cheerleading uniform you saved for me. I was never so happy as when you moved to Florida.  I loved babysitting for you ... I just loved talking to you. I miss you already. You will forever be in my heart!!! Love Kimmy!
