

Bill was born and raised in Pennsylvania. Upon graduation from high school, he joined the Navy. Later Bill joined the Army where he attended flight school; served in Korea and two tours in Viet Nam. During his career he was also stationed at various bases here in the United States. Toward the end of his career, Bill was stationed in West Germany where he met his wife, Mary Sue. His military career ended with a tour in Massachusetts with the 10th Special Forces.
Upon retirement from the Army Bill and Mary Sue moved to Ormond Beach where he began another career as a teacher at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, his alma mater. Following 18 years of interacting with so many aviation students, Bill again retired. This time, he and Mary Sue shared their love of art, painting and carving by opening Baldwin Decorative Arts in Ormond Beach.
Bill was a member of The Friends Carving Club of Port Orange and the Viet Nam Helicopter Assoc.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Carrie Baldwin, sister Betti Wind, brother George Baldwin and his wife Marilyn, brother-in-law George McHugh and brother-in-law Charlie Fisher.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Mary Sue; sons Michael, Mark [Sherrie], Matthew [Tina] and daughter Wendi Sue Orlando [Kenny]; grandchildren David, Brett, Jesse, Michael, Eliza and Logan. Also brother-in-law Mickey Wind and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Florida Memorial Hospice Center of Florida, Center for the Blind on Dunn Ave. , The American Cancer Society or the Veteran’s Administration
A memorial service will take place at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 in the chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N.
