William Joseph Varley, 95, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Sterling house of Palm Coast. William was born March 11, 1919 to Joseph and Sophie Varley. He was a graduate of Seton Hall University. William was a WWII fighter pilot serving in the 8th Army Air force division. He continued to serve his country in the Air Force Reserves retiring after 28 years as a Lt. Colonel. He had an extensive career as a CPA with Engelhard Industries for 34 years and was the Tax Assessor for the Boro of Roseland, NJ for 11 years. After retiring he moved to Ormond Beach in 1981. William leaves behind his beloved wife Dottie, two sons, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a lot of people who’s lives he touched with his humor and love.
