I was eating a muffin the other day and though of Alex.  He was the one who taught me that the proper name for the bottom part of the muffin  was called the "stump" (the top of course being the "cap").  I laughed at the time but now let everyone know that the stump is the proper name, and they should pass it on.
I worked with Alex at Woodbine, having hired him as a call centre rep for Horseplayer International.  I like to take responsibility for Alex and Amanda meeting there, falling in love and getting married.  
Hearing the sad news of his passing earlier this year just broke my heart.   I have great memories of laughing and spending time with Alex & Amanda and hope they are now together again.   I will remember Alex as having the smartest, driest sense of humour that always kept us laughing at the call centre, and when ever we all got together.  My Friend, you added joy to my life, I will miss you, until we meet again.  xox

I was saddened to learn of Alex’s passing.  He is gone far too soon. To his grieving family left behind, know that you were all very special to him.  His best traits will live on through his beautiful children and may the memories of happier times comfort  all those who mourn.

I was deeply saddened to read about Alex’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his children.

The only words I can think to share is what  Alex might have said "this sucks".  Grace, my daughter Caitlin was a swimming teacher for you, I think when you were around 4. I worked with your Dad at the Bank and every day he made me laugh. Your Mom and Dad were both so proud of all of you, Grace, Charlotte and Peter. You brought so much joy into their lives. 
I cannot imagine the sadness you are feeling. Remember that you did nothing wrong, you did nothing to make this happen.

Grace, Peter, and Charlotte, my deepest condolences to you and your family with the passing of your father.   Alex was An amazing man,  he was kind, respectful and very thoughtful. I’ve had the Privilege of working with him at Bank of Montreal, Ajax Main branch.  He was part of our family and a good friend to many. It’s taken me a while to process this news. I was so sad and shocked to hear of Alex’s passing. I want to extend my condolences to his 3 children Grace, Charlotte and Peter and the rest of his family.

  Alex was a great colleague and friend. I returned from mat leave in 2014 and Alex right away took on the role of mentor to me. I was in a branch he had worked in before so he quickly brought me up to speed. When he got his promotion a couple of years later he was an advocate for me to take over his branch and when I got the role he again was quick to help me settle in. He was always there to help and lend a hand.

Charolotte Grace and Peter my condolences and  I hope you feel surrounded with much love . I am so very sorry your family is experiencing such loss. 
When Alex began working with me we became friends very quickly as it was so easy to enjoy his dry sense of humour and his obvious love for his family and warm kindness to his friends.  It didn't take long for Reg and I to be invited over to meet Amanda and the kids for dinners at their home and fireworks and video games at ours and I will always treasure these memories. My favorite thing was when Alex would drop into work after he stopped working at our branch and come into my office and ask me for a "Janet hug"  when he said he needed one- he always made me feel so special .  I will miss both Alex and Amanda and will draw on their strength and determination and hold them close .  My heart goes out to each one of you.

Alex and and I worked together as colleagues. He had a fun sense of humour and could always brighten my day. 

Grace, Peter and Charlotte I am so sorry for your loss. Your father spoke very highly of you and was always proud of each of you. I remember a couple of years ago in December at a work conference running through the tunnels of Toronto together (between meetings) as we were both gathering presents for our children. 
You filled him with so much love and joy!  My heart goes out to you. Your father was an amazing man. 


I am heartbroken and want to share my deepest condolences to the entire family. 

I first met Alex when he was my employee and I was so proud when he quickly became my colleague. He inspired me with his work ethic and he helped me to be a better leader by his ability to dive deep into the numbers of our business and through his patience to teach me his methods. 

Alex was not only a wonderful friend to me but a wonderful friend to my family. Grace, Peter, and Charlotte you were all wonderful with my girls and they still love playing in the princess dresses you gave them.  

You could always count on Alex. I remember when my second child was born, he was the first person at my door with some much-needed pizza. When my father was in the hospital after his cardiac arrest, he was again there with a bottle of scotch and a sympathetic ear. Whenever I needed a friend, he was there. 

I will miss you brother. May you rest in peace.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Alex's passing.  My deepest sympathy to the family.  We only crossed paths a few times in the past few years but every talk or meeting we would spend some time talking about our families and his love for his family was so obvious.  You will be missed Alex.

I am heart broken to hear of Alex’s passing.  Alex and I were childhood friends.  He was my first friend and my first dance partner.  Our families spent a lot of time together when we were growing up.  We have so many special memories.  Alex was a kind, caring and loyal friend who could always make you laugh.  I met Amanda when we worked together at the track.  I was so happy when they became a couple. Such a beautiful union.  Alex was so proud of his children, his family and the life they built together.  May Grace, Charlotte and Peter always cherish the special memories they made with their beautiful parents.   I am so sorry for your loss.  My sincerest condolences to the family and children. My sincerest condolences to the entire English Family.   I worked with Alex @ BMO and remember him as a hard working man of the highest integrity.  I fondly recall the lunch Alex and I had several years ago while I was in Huntsville for the day.  Our conversation was wonderful, and we especially enjoyed discussing our families, and it was evident he was a wonderful family man and father. My deepest condolences to the family. 
When I first heard that Alex had passed away my heart broke, not only for him but for his family. I worked with Alex for several years in Oshawa and we shared many chats and he always made me laugh. The world lost a very special person.

I worked with Alex at BMO and got to know him as VPFPs working on the same team. When I started in the role Alex reached out to me and provided support and guidance. Alex was always happy to help and really went out of his way to make me feel like I could come to him. Alex was a kind man. I think of him and I remember his smile. My heart breaks for his family and children. I just want to say that I am so sorry for your loss and that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. 

I remember when Alex first started at the Port Perry Branch and with my FP team.  He was a great friend and I shared many laughs with him and talked about his family who meant the world to him.  Having lost my husband and raising my daughter alone, we shared the strength when he had to face the same thing.  When it was announced he was going to be our Boss, I was so happy.  I am now working at the Port Perry Branch and still have clients who remember him fondly.  I am very saddened to learn of his passing and feel for his children so much.  They have 2 special angels looking down on them everyday and I send them big big hugs. 

Alex was an amazing person.  He had an amazing spirit. May his soul rest with our father in Heaven. God bless you Alex.  We will all miss you dearly. 

I always wanted to thank Alex for taking a chance on me as a rookie Financial Planner. He took a risk on me that I will be forever grateful for. Alex and I shared a lot of stories together and had a lot of laughs. He was understanding and generous. He never showed worry or anger. He was always stylish in his 3-piece suits, even in 34 degree weather at an outdoor winery.  – I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences go out to his family and children. 

I've known Alex  from  his first day at BMO, and have many happy memories of him both inside and outside of work.  He was smart, thoughtful and generous and so proud of his children. I am grateful  to have known him. He will live on forever in our hearts. Rest in peace with God Alex.

I worked with Alex for a few years at BMO in the Greater Barrie Lakelands market.  When he visited my branch, he would always speak to me about his kids and his wife.  He smiled a lot during those chats. 
My deepest condolences to Alex's children and to his family.  The best parts of Alex and Amanda live on in Grace, Peter & Charlotte.  The best parts of Alex and Amanda are with the rest of their family to help support and guide the children throughout the coming years. 

Alex was a great mentor and friend. I'll miss the many summer days spent out on the golf course. He was very intrumental in my career and I'll be forever thankful for everything he's done for me. 

I knew Alex as an FP at our shared branch in Oshawa, and then we both were promoted and worked up North.  He helped me on MANY occasions with my FP at my branch.  He was a great peace keeper in a few "intense" moments.  In one case when he was going to be coming to my branch he asked "can I bring you a coffee?", and I said in a stressful reply "I'm going to need something stronger" half joking.  As we had socialized on a few occasions, he knew my preference and he honored my request with a bottle when he showed up to visit!  I still have that special bottle unopened and plan to open it and have a toast to him!  He was the most kind, gentle human who always put others first.  He adored his kids and talked of them often.  He left an imprint on me as a person and I will miss our talks.  Thank you Alex, for the teachings.  You will never be forgotten.  Condolences to Grace, Peter and Charlotte and family.

I have been so saddened to hear about the passing of Alex.  I was lucky enough to meet him and Amanda at Woodbine when we all worked at HPI together. Alex was my godson, he was the closest to the son t never had. I was the first person to hold him in my arms after his mom and dad He and his sister grew up with my two girls like brother and sisters. He could not say my youngest daughter's name so he called he diddle,diddle we thought it was cute. I have so many fun memories of him . In my eyes he was a loving person . Rest in peace my dear boy.
