Catharina Lamberta Summeren Kerstens

Passed away peacefully on August 9th, 2011, with family by her side at the Golden Plough Lodge, at the age of 88. Predeceased by her husbands Peter Arts (1969) and John Kerstens (2001). Loving mother of Toni (Mike) Shore, Nick (Jessica) Arts, Cory Arts, Peter (Peggy) Arts, and the late Heather McCabe Arts. Stepmother of Martin, Cory and John. Cathy is also predeceased by her 11 brothers and sisters. Cherished Grandma of Jim Shore (Cathy), Debbie Shore, Janice (Max) Centurione, Barb (Rick) Sparkes, Curby (Crystal) Holdershaw, Mike McCabe, Andrea McCabe, Garrett (Kevan Latrace) Metcalfe and Bill (Kim) Metcalfe. Adored Great Oma and Great Grandma of 15 and step-grandmother of 9. Those who knew Cathy will remember her for her love of gardening and spending time with family and friends. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Thursday, August 11th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST CHURCH (903 Giffard St., Whitby) on Friday, August 12th at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the Durham Regional Cancer Centre.
