Domenico Citano

Peacefully, with family by his side on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 87 years of age. Predeceased by his parents Pietro and Diana. Beloved husband of Maria (nee Pulla) for 59 years. Devoted father to Peter and his wife Maria and Vince and his wife Patricia. Loving Nonno of Domenico, Ava, Ethan, and Michael. Domenico will be sadly missed by his sister Connie and her husband Vince Ariemma, his nieces Joanne and Lilliana. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister in law Giovanna and the late Alberto. Predeceased by his sister in law Cesina and the late Alberto, brother in law Assunto, and his wife Aninna. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and his fur grandbaby Uma. Domenico immigrated to Canada from Italy with his family in 1960. Domenico settled with his family in Oshawa where he married Maria on May 1, 1965. He was not only devoted to his family but also his work at Lasco Steel from 1968 until he retired in 1996.

Domenico’s primary focus was to provide for his family. He gave his best efforts to ensure that they were given every chance to be successful in their lives, which he achieved.

Domenico demonstrated a “deep creativity” through constant construction and deconstruction of his home through renovations where his imagination was always on full display. Whether it was plumbing, electrical, welding, tiling, or paving, he would do it. Even if he did not know how to do it, he would figure it out, without Google.

Domenico respected his friends and family and always put their needs before his own.

Visitation will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West on Sunday January 12 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 13 at St Mary of the People Parish at 10:00am. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery.
