

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, May, 26th at the age of 80. Loving father of Barbara Malcolm (Rob) of Stouffville and Andrew Malcolm (Heather) of Bowmanville. Dear grandfather of Xya Curry-Malcolm. Fondly remembered by Marion Keith of Vancouver and lovingly remembered by his sister Marilyn (Dr. William M. Wilson) of Ancaster as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Diane Beatty. Don was a graduate of Upper Canada College - Class of 48, a graduate of Trinity College, U of T in 52 and member of the Redbirds Ski club - #243 McGill University. Don was a 45 year member of Kiwanis, Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Oshawa, Director of Durham A. M. Kiwanis, Mel Osborne Fellow – Kiwanis Foundation of Canada, Past Governor – Tralfalgar Castle School, Past Trustee – Oshawa Public Library, and actively involved in the United Way and local charities. He was also Past Warden at St. George’s Memorial Anglican Church. Don was a 31 year manager for National Trust and 8 year with Moss Lawson and Company Investment Dealers. Don was a keen golfer and a 40 year member of the Oshawa Golf Club, life member of the Toronto Golf Club, and 25 year member of the Royal Montreal Golf Club. Don was an ardent fisherman, a very keen gardener and a lifetime cottager at “Kosey Korners,” Honey Harbour, Georgian Bay. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Monday, May 31st from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 P.M. Funeral Service will be held at ST. GEORGE’S MEMORIAL ANGLICAN CHURCH (51 Centre St. S., Oshawa at corner of Centre and Bagot) on Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations in memory of Don may be made to Lakeridge Health – Oshawa Cancer Centre or St. George’s Anglican Church.
