

Don passed away peacefully with family by his side at Carriage House in Oshawa, on Sunday, March 23, 2025. He was 92 years of age.
Dearly beloved husband of Marion, with whom he shared 38 loving years together. He was a loving and devoted father and will be missed by Jeff (Deb) and Janice (Peter) and was predeceased by baby daughter Joanne from his first marriage to Mary. He will be missed by Marion's children Michael (Katherine) and Daryl (Sandra). He cherished his grandchildren Sean (Sarah), Sara (Tyler), Sophie (James) and Laura, and great grandchildren Macayla, Etta, Harper and Finlay. Predeceased by his sister Joyce and mother Lucy (née Harding). Grandpa will be greatly missed by Ella, his canine companion.
Born in Oshawa, Don’s working life started in automotive sales at the Canadian Tire store in downtown Oshawa at the age of 20. His career with Canadian Tire spanned 37 years until his retirement in 1987. He was dedicated to community service, and volunteered as an Officer with the Whitby Ontario Provincial Police Auxiliary from 1968 until his retirement. Thereafter, he volunteered for many years, welcoming new Canadians as a Citizenship Court Officer. He was a member of the Oshawa Jaycees from 1964.
Don lived a purposeful life and enjoyed many warm and heartfelt memories of a life well spent.
Don and Marion enjoyed every day, sharing their love and interest of family and friends, their trips in Ontario to the beach, to the park, to Niagara and the CNE. They loved traveling abroad to Portugal.

A Celebration of Life will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St., West on Friday, May 2nd. Visitation starts at 10:30 am followed by a service at 11:30 am in the Chapel. A Reception will follow the service.
Interment will be at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens for immediate family and will occur after the Reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
