Mom was a loving woman who had her share of hard knocks, but overcame the imperfect life with grace, intelligence, and kindness. She adored her family and dear friends even though, and especially over the past few years, Alzheimer’s robbed her of the ability to demonstrate that affection.
We will miss her.
We would like to thank Dr. Mojeed, Sarah and Ashley from VHA, and Christine from Ontario Health atHome for providing Mom the framework for spending her last years in her beloved family home. We would also like to thank the wonderful personal support workers from Paramed and CBI, for their professionalism, compassion, patience, and love, sometimes under difficult circumstances. To Renata, Maria, Cherrylynne, Afsana, Chanti, Jessica, Jill, Tobin, Charlene, Irina and all the others who had touched Mom’s life, we owe you a debt of gratitude, thank you so much!
Finally, a special loving thanks to a wonderful group of women who allowed Mom to live at home with dignity, safety, and comfort. Daughter in law Susan, wonderful friend Cheryl, and granddaughters Leigh-Anne, Cara, & Kelsey provided the care and companionship necessary to allow Mom to have her final wish come true. Words cannot express how grateful we are for your devotion to Mom, Donna & Gramma.
A small burial service will be held for immediate family and a celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2025.
