Dorothy. Martin

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, May 6th, 2011 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her loving husband Ernest (2000) and by her son Lorne (2008). Dorothy is survived by her children Georgina Hanson (late James), Yvonne Woodward (Robert), Marion Wright (late Robert), Joanne Achtzehnter (Jeurgen) and Ernest Martin (Karen). Dorothy leaves behind four generations of grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews and other relatives. Those who knew Dorothy will remember her for her love of family, cooking, sewing, gardening and having an open door for those in need. She had a great sense of humour and had a positive outlook on life. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Linett and the caring and compassionate nursing staff on 7C at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for all of their dedication. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Monday, May 9th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, May 10th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for Children’s Wish Foundation.
