Passed peacefully after a lengthy illness with family by his side at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Thursday, July 7th, 2011, in his 81st year. Dearly beloved husband of Marie (Riet) of 51 years. Loving father of Janette Frohlich (Hans), Garry Winkel (Marlene), and Anita de Graaf (Sid). Cherished Opa of Ryan and Jessica Frohlich, Danika, Bayley and Mikayla Winkel, and Shaun, Derek, and Michelle Ryken. Survived by 3 brothers and 4 sisters in the Netherlands; Nel, Rei, Bep, Gerrit, Nico, Wim and An. Fondly remembered step-grandfather to David, Steven, Danielle, Jennifer, Nathan and their children Carley, Nyla, Brooklynn and Aria. Will be sadly missed by all the family and friends. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Tuesday, July 12th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. and Wednesday, July 13th from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Lakeridge Health Foundation – Respiratory Therapy would be greatly appreciated.
