It was with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Smith on Friday, April 14th, 2023. Paul was born in Wymondham, England before moving to Birmingham where he grew up and worked as an apprenticed auto mechanic. In 1966, Paul moved to Ontario. With a new country came a new job as a paramedic and a long, successful career with Toronto Emergency Services. He also played an active role as a leader in both the Cubs, and Sea Cadet organizations over his son’s childhood years. In his down time, Paul enjoyed watching sports, especially soccer, and listening to “his ladies” singing his favourite Jazz and Blues songs. Paul will be sadly missed by his wife, Lynda and their two sons David (Kara) and Edward (Jennifer). Uncle Paul will also be remembered by the many members of his extended family including Dylan whom he loved dearly. Paul’s family with to extend special thanks to the many health care professionals who assisted him with compassion and dignity while supporting his entire family with loving care. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Monday, April 24th from 12:30 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Donations to the Lung Association will be greatly appreciated.
