He was the dearly beloved husband of Virginia for 49 years. Loving father of Donald (Barabara), the late Keith, Vivienne (Michael), Byron (Dawn), and Westford (Jessica). Cherished grandfather of Patrice, Shanice, Natalie, Rhona, Keon, and Jordan, and great-grandfather of Savannah, Maleah, Khaliel, Leilani, and Malik.
Raphael is also lovingly remembered by his stepchildren: Daphney (Byron), Carolyn, Lincoln, and Una (Herbert). He was loved by his extended family and many step-grand and step-great grandchildren.
Compassionately known to many as “Grandpa,” Raphael was a kind soul. He will be remembered for his warm smile, quiet demeanor, and relentless pursuit of whatever goal he had his mind set to.
Raphael will be deeply missed by those that knew him and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service in the chapel at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
