Passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side, on Saturday, May 18th, 2014 at his home in Courtice at the age of 57. Mourned by his “Angel”, wife Sue, loving dad of Olivia and Nick. Survived by his brother Roy and family. Rick was very well known in the Auto Sales industry in Durham Region most recently at Durham Auto Group. Rick will be fondly remembered for his love of racing both dirt bikes and cars. He had a larger than life personality, a great sense of humour, and he could fix anything. Rick will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The Maeder family would like to express their gratitude to the caring and compassionate nursing staff of Red Cross Care Partners for taking care of Rick and family for the last year. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, (905-721-1234) on Friday, May 23rd , from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. A Celebration of Rick’s life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, May 24th at 11:00 a.m. Donations to the Lakeridge Health Foundation-Cancer Care would be greatly appreciated by the family.
