Thomas Henry Greer

April 6th, 1924 – June 21st, 2012

Peacefully in his 89th year with his family by his side, Thomas, beloved husband of Ruth (nee West). Cherished father of Jeff (Bonnie), Christine (Wendy), Ronald (Sharon) and Carolyn (Robert). Predeceased by his daughter Marilyn. Proud Grandpa of Adam and Laura Greer, Sean and Ryan Sinclair, Stephanie and Michael Barber, and Matthew Bessey. A new Great Grandpa to Olivia Jane Sinclair. Tom was born and raised in Fort William, Ontario. He was a WWII Veteran and served in the RCAF. He obtained his honours degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1949 and graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in June 1953. Tom established a successful law firm and practiced law in Oshawa until his retirement in 2007 at the age of 83. Tom and Ruth travelled the world, but always loved to come home. He was an avid fisherman and woodworker, and he enjoyed the occasional game of golf. Tom was a well respected member of the community and donated his time to many charitable organizations over the years. Most importantly he was our beloved husband, father and Grandpa. He will be forever in our hearts. Special thanks to Dr. Caroline Ngo and nurse Paula. A Celebration of Life will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Thursday, July 12th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Unit at Lakeridge Health Oshawa would be appreciated.
