Peacefully at Taunton Mills on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 at 97 years of age. Beloved husband of Mary for 70 years. Dear father of Joanne (Rick), Steve (Pam), Theresa (David), Janet (Paul), Colleen (Jamie) and David (Heather). Loving Grandpa of Janet Mary, Jaimee-Lynne (Ryan), Jacquelyn (Nick), Brendan, Curtis (Lyndsay), Cameron, Samantha (Bryan), Keeley, McAulay, Bryn, Callum and Great Grandpa of Emery, Kylie, Clara and Nathan. Dear brother of Peggy and Bette and predeceased by Heather, Pat, Ross and Don.
Our father lived his best life with his devoted wife Mary travelling, golfing, cross country skiing and winning duplicate bridge tournaments together. He was an avid sports fan of the Leaf's and baseball well before he became a Blue Jays enthusiast. Dad followed world news closely and loved reading the newspaper daily. A good joke would bring tears to his eyes laughing. His family was his legacy in life which made him extremely proud.
Our father came from a Military family and was stationed in The Airforce in PEI during WW2. He worked on the Pipe Line in Northern Ontario and was the Ontario Director of Realty Services for more than 20 years. Our father’s life was blessed and can now be celebrated.
A special thank you to the amazing staff @ Taunton Mills Claremont wing who could always make him smile with their wonderful care and compassion. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST CATHOLIC CHURCH, 903 Giffard Street, Whitby on Friday, January 7th, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
