Danny Lee Woodward, 69, of New Haven, passed away, February 5, 2012 at his home. He was born on January 5, 1943 in Bluffton, IN to the late Ervin S. “Mutt” and Catherine Madge (Somers) Woodward. He graduated from Ossian High School in 1961 and later worked at International Harvester for 37 years before retiring in 2000. He enjoyed yard work and caring for his cars. He was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball and I.U. basketball fan. He will forever be loved and missed by his family and all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kathy I. (Wake) Woodward, daughters, Melanie (Rob) Newell and Stephanie (Steve) Rohr, both of Ossian; step children, Jennifer (Gipper) Monson of Flemington, NJ, Jason Soest of Fairborn, OH; grandchildren, Breanna and Spencer Newell, Austin and Dylan Rohr; step grandchildren, Trey, Jacob, Emily Monson; sister, Becky (Brad) Blair of New Haven. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother, Kathleen Woodward.
A funeral service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with visitation one hour prior to services with Chaplain Karen Kosberg officiating. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, February 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
