Donald T. McAfee

Donald Terry McAfee, 74, of Ossian, was taken home by Jesus, Monday, November 17, 2014. Born August 29, 1940, he was a son of the late Donald E. and Lora M. (Ellingwood) McAfee. He worked as an over the road truck driver for 31 years. The joys of his life were his wife, children, and grandchildren. His hobbies were reading his Bible and working in his garage. He was famous for riding his riding mower in to the pond on multiple occasions. Surviving are his beloved wife of 51 years, Reba Jean (Shell) McAfee, his son, Tony (Bridgette) McAfee, daughters, Bettye (Nick) George, Angel (Jeremy) Franklin, Katie and Kristene McAfee, and son Kyle McAfee; grandchildren, Anthony, Dustin, Jamie, Logan Virgil, Austin, Bailey, and Leland; twin brother, Ronald J. McAfee, and brother, David L. McAfee. He was also preceded in death by his son Jerry, brother, Richard, sister, Mary Ann Lehman, father and mother in law, Virgil and Christene (Curry) Shell, and grandson, Tony. A funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
